Books, Readers and Beyond: #53 Finding Books Online
Exercise One
The nearest bookstores around the Aldine Library are: Waldenbooks found at Willowbrook Mall; Barnes & Noble at the Commons; and Half-Priced Books, NW location. Waldenbooks is a subsidiary of Borders, so they share the same website. Barnes & Noble pretty much offers the same online services as Border does. Half-Price Books, on the other hand, sells zero books on their website. They have no catalog, as their inventory comes from local residents. They do refer you to the nearest branch, and offer a book of the month.
Exercise Two
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen is available at Borders and Barnes & Noble, priced at $8.99. Amazon also offers the book at the same price, as well as the Kindle version for a lesser $7.19. The book is also available in an audiobook format, although I was only able to find it on Amazon at $24.65.
Exercise Three
Not only have I read an eBook I’ve bought a couple as well. I went to the library eBranch to download Twilight by Stephenie Meyer a while back, and, at the end of the day, while I enjoyed reading the book on my computer, pushing the ENTER button wan't as satisfying as turning the page.
